#4 South Carolina vs. Missouri, Game 1 Recap: Gamecocks Rally to Open Series Against Tigers With 8-5 Win

The Gamecocks got off to a lackluster start in the first game of this series against Mizzou, but they showed us why you should never count them out, rallying late in the game for an important victory.

After quiet first innings for both teams, the Tigers took a 2-0 lead in the second inning on a single by Ian Nelson. They tacked on another run in the next inning thanks to a sac fly from Trey Harris.

South Carolina got on the board to end the shutout in the bottom of the third. Gene Cone extended his hitting streak to 25 games - tying the school single-season record - with a double, then he came home on a two-out RBI single from John Jones, making it 3-1.
