The Gamecocks couldn't overcome a rough first inning in Nashville on Thursday
After losing an extra innings heartbreaker to College of Charleston on Thursday, it would have been nice to see South Carolina bounce back with a good win over Vanderbilt. Alas, it was not to be.
The Gamecocks trailed early, as the Commodores took a 4-0 lead in the first inning. They loaded the bases thanks to two base hits and a walk, then a double brought two runs in. Another run scored on another base hit, and the fourth run of the inning was scored as Vandy hit into a double play.
