TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The University of South Alabama women's tennis team racked up nine wins on day one of the Roberta Alison Fall Classic hosted by Alabama.
DOUBLES
-In the Nancy Harris Draw, sophomores Yu Fujioka and Milka Pasanen dropped top-seeded Alex Angyalosy and Tate Schroeder of Clemson 6-1
-In the Jill Breslin Draw, the No. 1 seeded team of senior Alexandria Stiteler and sophomore Nikola Kohoutova downed Ana Tkachenko and Brianna Tulloch of Kentucky 6-3
-Junior Leslie Soto teamed with Matea Mihaljevic of Troy in the Nancy Pate Draw and defeated Samford's Ariana Beltrame and Amanda Kilduff 6-2
SINGLES
-Fujioka, Kohoutova and Soto all advanced to the final of their respective draws, while Stiteler withdrew from singles competition
-Fujioka, the three seed in the Amy Mascotti Draw, defeated Sara Lizariturry of Mississippi State 7-6 (7-5), 6-4, then rallied to get past Natalie Whalen of Indiana 4-6, 7-6 (7-3), (12-10)
-Top-seeded Kohoutova won both of her matches in the Titia Wilmink Draw in straight sets, winning 7-5, 6-0 vs.
