Two weeks from National Signing Day, South Alabama is working to finish off what will be a smaller than usual 2017 recruiting class.
The Jaguars have just 11 scholarships to offer in this class, due to the fact that they legally oversigned last year. South Alabama brought in 14 "blueshirt" players in the fall, all of which count toward the 2017 signing class.
That means South Alabama must make its limited numbers count at need positions, like wide receiver and defensive back. The Jaguars already have seven commitments for 2017, including junior college running back Tywun Walters, who signed in December and has already enrolled.
