BOONE, N.C. – Junior Ken Williams (Houston, Texas) scored 27 points to help the University of South Alabama men's basketball team to a 75-71 win at Appalachian State Thursday night at the Holmes Center.

The victory gives the Jaguars a 12-15 record overall and a 7-9 mark in the Sun Belt Conference, and moves them into seventh place in the league standings. The Mountaineers have lost six straight and fall to 6-20, 4-11.

"I thought it was a well-played college basketball game," USA head coach Matthew Graves said.
