From the National Baseball Hall of Fame's Class of 1964 through its Class of 2006, Alabama put 12 players into the National Pastime's shrine.
But after sending a dozen players for enshrinement in a span of 43 classes, the state can claim only one player in the past 10, including the Class of 2016, which will be enshrined on Sunday in Cooperstown, New York.
Ken Griffey Jr. and Mike Piazza will be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame on Sunday.
Is there another Hall of Famer on Alabama's horizon, another baseball great associated with the state by birth, school or both soon to earn a plaque in Cooperstown?
