Former South Alabama safety Jeremy Reaves has what appears to be a solid chance to have his name called at some point during this week's NFL draft.
Reaves is a likely late-round choice or perhaps an undrafted free agent signee, Reese's Senior Bowl executive director Phil Savage said. The 5-foot-11, 204-pound Reaves was the Sun Belt Conference Defensive Player of the Year in 2017, and ended his college career with an outstanding showing in the Senior Bowl.
What Reaves has most going for him is versatility, Savage said during a pre-draft conference call with reporters. Reaves started one season each at cornerback and safety for the Jaguars, splitting time between the two positions as a junior in 2016.
