ARLINGTON, Texas – Texas-Arlington scored 57 points in the first half en route to a 92-79 win over the University of South Alabama men's basketball team Thursday night at the College Park Center.

The Mavericks increase their season record to 21-9 overall and 12-7 in the Sun Belt Conference. The Jaguars fall to 13-17 and 8-11.

Despite the loss, South Alabama is still alive for a spot in the SBC Tournament next week. A win Saturday at Texas State (4:30 p.m.) would automatically put the Jags in; a loss would require an Appalachian State victory over Arkansas State.
