HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Three University of South Alabama baseball student-athletes were named to the 2017 NCAA Hattiesburg (Miss.) All-Regional Team.
Jaguar right-hander Randy Bell, first baseman Wells Davis and outfielder Dylan Hardy were each named to the all-regional squad, which was voted on by members of the media, for their respective performances over the weekend.
Bell tossed a complete game to lead the third-seeded Jags to a 6-3 win over No. 2 Mississippi State, who won the regional on Monday by defeating Southern Mississippi twice, to open the regional. Bell (7-3) allowed three runs on six hits with three strikeouts and two walks in nine innings, and closed the game by retiring 11 of the last 12 batters he faced to lead the Jaguars to their first-ever win over MSU in the NCAA postseason.
