MOBILE, Ala. – Two members of the University of South Alabama women's track team and an individual from the football program were inducted into the Mortar Board national honor society on Friday. The ceremony was conducted at the Student Center Ballroom.
Kaitlyn Beans and Marina Swanepoel — the former was unable to take part in the ceremony while competing at the South Alabama Invitational — were joined by John Robinson in being recognized for their ability and achievement in scholarship, leadership and service.
In addition to earning honorable mention All-America accolades at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships each of the last two years, Beans has been named to the Sun Belt Conference Commissioner's List following both of her first two seasons with the program.
