STRONG PITCHING PERFORMANCE NOT ENOUGH FOR SOFTBALL ON WEDNESDAY

BATON ROUGE, La. – Despite another double-digit strikeout performance from sophomore right-hander Devin Brown, South Alabama softball could not overcome No. 5 LSU on Wednesday in a 5-0 loss at Tiger Park.

LSU (9-2) recorded only one more hit than South Alabama (6-4), but the Tigers paired theirs together in the third and fourth innings for the win, moving to 8-2 all-time versus the Jaguars. South Alabama placed at least one runner on base in each inning of the contest, but LSU pitcher Allie Walljasper proved difficult to double up.

After Emily Griggs drew a leadoff walk in the bottom of the third inning, Bianka Bell doubled down the left field line to score the runner for LSU's first swipe, and Kellsi Kloss followed with a single back up the middle to double the host lead to 2-0.
