South Alabama picked up a commitment from former St. Bonaventure forward Josh Ayeni, AL.com has confirmed.
Ayeni, a 6-foot-8 native of Nigeria who moved to the U.S. in 2011, averaged 5.3 points and 2.8 rebounds in 14.6 minutes per game for the Bonnies in 2017-18. He will sit out the 2018-19 season under NCAA transfer rules, then have two seasons to play for the Jaguars.
Ayeni is the fifth transfer to join the South Alabama program in the 2018 class, joining forward Tashombe Riley (South Carolina State) and guards Kory Holden (South Carolina), Don Coleman (Cal) and Andre Fox (High Point).
