Box Score SAN MARCOS, TEXAS- South Alabama dropped a tough road contest to Texas State in a 65-54 final Saturday afternoon.
The first quarter was a slow start for both sides as baskets came at a premium. The Jaguars started to gain some momentum, going on a 10-0 run. South's defense was in full effect, allowing just seven points and forcing nine turnovers in the first quarter.
South struggled at the start of the second as the hosts jumped out to an 8-0 run to begin the quarter. Rachel Leggett connected for a three to slow down the Bobcats' momentum.
