After keeping its season alive with a thrilling victory over Southern Miss earlier in the day, the wheels ran off for South Alabama on Sunday afternoon at the NCAA baseball Tallahassee Regional.
Top-seeded Florida State blasted six home runs — including three in the third inning — on the way to an 18-6 victory at Dick Howser Stadium. The Jaguars' season ends at 42-22, while the Seminoles (40-20) advance to the Super Regional round.
"Our guys have nothing to hang their heads about," South Alabama coach Mark Calvi said. "We had a great season; we were (Sun Belt Conference) regular season co-champions and reach an NCAA Regional final.
