South Alabama football coach Joey Jones is entering the final season of his contract, but Jaguars athletics director Joel Erdmann told AL.com Tuesday that no extension is currently being discussed.
"Not at this time, not now," Erdmann said. "We're looking forward to a great season and we think we've got a chance to have one."
In 2015, Jones agreed to a contract extension through March 31, 2018. The 54-year-old Mobile native earns approximately $525,000 per year.
Jones is the only head football coach in Jaguars history and is 48-42 in eight seasons. That includes a 23-27 record since USA became a full member of the Sun Belt Conference in 2013.
