MOBILE, Ala. | South Alabama defensive back Darrell Luter Jr. was selected by the San Francisco 49ers in the fifth round of the NFL Draft on Sunday afternoon in Kansas City with the 155th overall pick.
It is the third consecutive year that the Jags have had a player selected in the NFL Draft, and Luter becomes the fourth selection all-time from the school. He is also the first defensive player selected in the Draft from South Alabama.
Luter, a participant in the 2023 NFL Draft Combine and Reese's Senior Bowl finished his career with 91 total tackles in two years.
