South Alabama's Chyna Ellis became the Sun Belt Conference's all-time leader in blocked shots and recorded her team's first triple-double in 29 years in a 68-62 victory over Coastal Carolina Thursday night at the Mitchell Center.
Ellis posted 12 points, 10 rebounds and 10 blocks in becoming the first Jaguars women's player to record a triple-double since Adrian Vickers did so against Florida International on Dec. 27, 1989. Her 10 blocks were a career-high and gave her 286 for her career, moving her ahead of Denver's Kaetlyn Murdoch (279 from 2011-14) on the all-time SBC list.
"It's been great, she and I have had conversations," South Alabama coach Terry Fowler said.
