South Alabama wide receiver Malik Stanley indefinitely suspended

South Alabama wide receiver Malik Stanley has been indefinitely suspended from the team while the university investigates a non-football matter, head coach Steve Campbell confirmed to AL.com Saturday.

Stanley, a senior who was expected to be a starter this season, has not practiced with the Jaguars since early in the week. Campbell declined to elaborate on Stanley's potential infraction, but said it was possible the player could return to the team at some point.

The 6-foot-3, 220-pound Stanley entered fall camp as the Jaguars' starter at Z-receiver. The Topeka, Kan., native caught 27 passes for 324 yards and three touchdowns in 2017, his first season with the Jaguars since transferring from Coffeyville (Kan.
