The Jaguars last played Mississippi State on that day nearly two years ago, a 35-3 Bulldogs victory at Ladd-Peebles Stadium. South Alabama enters Saturday's season-opener (11 a.m., SEC Network) at MSU's Davis Wade Stadium in Starkville as four-touchdown underdog.
"You get to see how [our program] has grown in two years," USA safety Devon Earl said. "When we played them two years ago, we came in really confident and ready to play them. We played well [in that game], but ended up losing.
