Kevin Hill pitched a complete game as South Alabama knocked off homestanding Georgia State 9-3 in the opener of a three-game series in Atlanta Friday.
Hill (8-1) went the distance, striking out seven and issuing two walks while allowing three runs on six hits. He allowed just four hits over his final four innings Friday.
South Alabama (32-11, 17-2 Sun Belt Conference) had 17 hits in the game, including at least one from every starter. Ben Gann and Drew LaBounty each went 3-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run scored.
Jared Barnes went 2-for-4 with a double, two RBI and one run scored, while Cole Billingsley as 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI, a run scored and a stolen base.
