South Alabama is one win away from its first Sun Belt Conference baseball tournament championship since 2005.
The Jaguars doubled up Arkansas State 4-2 in a semifinal game on Saturday in Statesboro, Ga., advancing to Sunday's championship game. USA (38-19) will face the Texas State-Georgia Southern winner at noon Sunday at J.I. Clements Stadium, with the league champion getting an automatic bid into an NCAA regional.
"It's exciting," South Alabama coach Mark Calvi said in his post-game interview on ESPN3. "You come to the tournament, you put your best foot forward and try to win it. You don't think two games ahead, you just think about the next game.
