South Alabama pounded out seven extra-base hits -- including a season-best four home runs -- and got a sterling effort from starting pitcher Tyler Carr in a 16-2 victory over Texas Arlington in a Sun Belt Conference series opener at Stanky Field on Friday night.
Included in the barrage were a pair of shots by 9-hole hitter Will Luft. Wells Davis and Dylan Hardy also went deep for USA, while Hardy, Davis and Travis Swaggerty added doubles.
The Jaguars (27-20, 15-9 Sun Belt) got three-hit efforts from Swaggerty, Hardy and Davis. USA totaled 15 hits in all off five pitchers for UTA (21-28, 11-14).
