Dylan Hardy and Brendan Donovan each homered twice and Randy Bell pitched into the eighth inning as South Alabama ripped past Troy 9-1 in the quarterfinals of the Sun Belt Conference baseball tournament on Friday.
With the win, the Jaguars (37-19) advance to face UT-Arlington or Arkansas State in a semifinal game at 3 p.m. Central Saturday at J.I. Clements Stadium in Statesboro, Ga. Troy's season ends at 31-25.
"I'm just happy we played well today," South Alabama Mark Calvi said in his post-game radio interview on 99.5 The Jag. "I'm happy for the team, I'm happy for the win.
