Mobile's Government Plaza Auditorium was awash in red on Tuesday morning.
More than 250 South Alabama students, staff members and supporters -- the majority of them clad in school colors -- traveled downtown for Tuesday's Mobile County Commission and Mobile City Council meetings. Dominating both meetings agendas was a discussion of USA's proposed on-campus stadium, and requests to both the city and county for help with funding.
South Alabama athletics director Joel Erdmann and several others, including school president Tony Waldrop and national alumni association president Doug Whitmore, spoke at the meetings in support of the funding proposal.
