South Alabama's Collier Smith has a very easy way to gauge whether or not he performed well in a given game or practice.
"If I'm not sore, I've done something wrong," Smith said.
The 6-foot-2, 245-pound senior from Birmingham plays a position in the Jaguars' offense known as the "superback" -- a combination of tight end, fullback and slot receiver. That means he's going to be asked to block quite a bit and otherwise be given opportunities to "get sore" as either a short-yardage ballcarrier or possession pass-catcher.
In the early days of 2018 fall camp, Smith has drawn effusive praise from his South Alabama teammates and coaches.
