MOBILE, Ala. | South Alabama split a doubleheader with Eastern Kentucky on day two of the Jaguar Classic at Stanky Field on Saturday, dropping the opener 2-0 before winning the nightcap 26-6.
In the nightcap, South Alabama (2-1) drew a school record 20 walks in the win, besting a mark of 18 set against Alabama back on April 8, 1979 – a record that stood for 40-plus years. The 26 runs scored was the first time the Jags have scored 25 or more runs in a game since scoring 32 against Eastern Illinois on February 18, 2017.
