The University of South Alabama softball team (19-10, 2-5 SBC) fell 8-3 to No. 17/20 Louisiana-Lafayette (21-5, 4-0 SBC) Saturday afternoon in the series opener at Jaguar Field.
Game two of the series was suspended in the bottom of the fourth inning with one out and a runner on third with Louisiana-Lafayette holding a 3-0 lead. The contest will be resumed Sunday at noon with the series finale set to begin approximately 30 minutes following the conclusion of the suspended game.
