As South Alabama prepares for its second scrimmage of the fall, offensive coordinator Kenny Edenfield said he is no closer to identifying a starting quarterback for the Jaguars.
Seniors Cole Garvin and Evan Orth and redshirt freshman Cephus Johnson continue to compete for the job, each of the three getting equal reps with the first-team and second-team offenses in every practice. Edenfield said he has tracked every rep each quarterback has taken, but isn't sure when one will emerge as the clear No. 1.
"They're really going to make it tough," Edenfield said. "Everyone is still getting reps with the 1s and 2s.
