Two days before South Alabama's spring football game, its most-experienced quarterback has left the program.
Fifth-year senior Dallas Davis informed Jaguars head coach Steve Campbell of his decision on Thursday, Campbell confirmed to AL.com. Davis has already graduated from South Alabama and could play elsewhere this fall as a graduate transfer, but Campbell could not confirm Davis' future plans.
Campbell issued the following brief statement:
"Dallas is a good young man," Campbell said. "We wish him well in his future pursuits."
As recently as Tuesday, both Campbell and offensive coordinator Kenny Edenfield named Davis as one of two South Alabama quarterbacks who had separated themselves in the team's four-way competition this spring.
