Tuesday marked South Alabama's first spring practice since Friday's scrimmage, and thus the first time coaches had spoken to the media since watching film of that scrimmage.
Both Jaguars head coach Steve Campbell and offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach Kenny Edenfield noted that they were starting to see "separation" among the four competitors at the position: seniors Dallas Davis, Cole Garvin and Evan Orth, plus redshirt freshman Cephus Johnson. With one full practice plus a walkthrough remaining prior to Saturday's Red-Blue spring game at Ladd-Peebles Stadium, Davis and Johnson appear to be emerging as the frontrunners under center for USA.
