South Alabama's stunning Sun Belt Conference baseball tournament victory on Sunday also handed the school its third straight Vic Bubas Cup for all-sports excellence in the league.
The Jaguars picked up an extra point for winning the tournament championship, edging Texas State by a half-point in the final Bubas Cup standings. South Alabama ended up with 119 points, ahead of Texas State (118.5) and Texas-Arlington (117).
"We are humbled, proud and honored to have earned the Vic Bubas Cup. The elevated competitive level among our Sun Belt Conference member institutions is what makes this so rewarding," South Alabama athletics director Joel Erdmann said.
