South Alabama is entering its 10th season of football this fall, and it might be only a matter of time before the Jaguars have a stadium on campus.
It's been more than 18 months since school officials determined that building an on-campus stadium was "feasible." The proposed stadium would be located to the immediate southeast of the USA Football Field House -- adjacent to the still-under-construction Jaguar Training Center covered practice facility, which is expected to be open for use in July -- and cost from $85 million-$115 million.
That price tag -- which would include infrastructure such as water/sewer upgrades and access roads through a mostly wooded area of campus -- has been the main sticking point up to now.
