LAFAYETTE, La. – The University of South Alabama men's track and field team won its first Sun Belt Conference outdoor title in program history on Saturday, scoring 148.5 points at the Sun Belt Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championship.
The Jaguar men's squad took the top spot on the podium in three consecutive events to start the day. Christian Ellis claimed his third-straight triple jump title, followed by Francois Prinsloo (discus) and Kyle Rademeyer (pole vault) defending their Sun Belt Conference titles in their respective events. During the evening slate of running events, Kirami Yego won his second gold medal of the meet in the 5000m race and helped the Jaguars maintain first place.
