Numbers-wise, things look pretty ugly for South Alabama after its first two games of the 2018 football season.
The Jaguars are 0-2, with a close loss to Louisiana Tech followed by a blowout defeat at Oklahoma State. USA ranks last in the Sun Belt Conference in total offense and total defense, and is among the most-penalized teams in the country.
South Alabama hosts Texas State (1-1) in its Sun Belt opener at 6 p.m. Saturday at Ladd-Peebles Stadium, and the Jaguars are ready to turn the page.
"I told our guys during camp and it's held true through the first two games, we do enough good things to have a really good football team; what we need to do is eliminate the negative things," head coach Steve Campbell said.
