By any measure, the first half of South Alabama's 2018 season was a challenge.
The Jaguars played four of their first six games on the road, and four of their first six against teams that made bowl games a year ago. South Alabama (1-5, 1-2 Sun Belt) recently completed a three-game road swing against Memphis, Appalachian State and Georgia Southern, losing all three by a combined 152-58.
Things ease up a good bit for South Alabama this week, as they at home against FCS opponent Alabama State at Ladd-Peebles Stadium on Saturday. The Hornets are 2-4 following an overtime win against SWAC rival Alcorn State last week.
