South Alabama's Steve Campbell completed his on-field football coaching staff on Monday with the hiring of Kenny Edenfield as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach.
Edenfield, 52, comes to USA from arch-rival Troy, where he had been offensive coordinator since 2010. The Trojans finished their season on Saturday with a 50-30 victory over North Texas in the New Orleans Bowl, ending with an 11-2 record that is the best in school history since the jump to the FBS level in 2001.
Campbell's relationship with Campbell goes back more than 30 years, when the two were teammates at Troy (then Troy State) in the late 1980s.
