SAN MARCOS, Texas – Joshua Rowland kicked a 31-yard field goal with just over six minutes remaining in regulation on Saturday, and when the University of South Alabama's field-goal attempt from 28 yards out with a little more than a minute to go sailed wide left Texas State earned a 30-28 Sun Belt Conference football victory over the Jaguars at Bobcat Stadium.
It was the third field goal of the day for Rowland, who also connected from 20 and 41 yards in the first half. In between, Tyler Vitt threw for 373 yards and three scores with Hutch White catching 10 passes for 165 yards to help the Bobcats improve to 3-6 overall and 2-3 in the league.
