Whether South Alabama's baseball season continues into June depends almost entirely upon how the Jaguars perform at this week's Sun Belt Conference tournament.
After being picked to win the Sun Belt championship and possibly challenge for national honors this year, the Jaguars stumbled to a 30-23 overall record and 18-11 finish in the conference, tied for third in the Sun Belt East Division. USA suffered a near-unprecedented rash of injuries to key players, losing eight major contributors -- including preseason All-Sun Belt shortstop Drew LaBounty, designated hitter Colton Thomas and weekend starting pitchers Andy Arguelles and Chase Shell -- for the season.
