During her brief time on campus, University of South Alabama women's distance runner Carolien Millenaar has quickly made her mark for the Jaguars both on the track and sometimes difficult cross country courses despite not picking up running until her mid-teen years.
"I got involved with athletics at a very young age. I started with some sports other than track like handball and soccer," Millenaar said. "I played those sports until I was 16, and I started running in 2014, which was quite late. I had my first track meet in May of that year and I quit soccer; I've been running ever since.
