Samantha Yarbrough takes everything on the softball field personally.
Fairhope coach Chuck Nelson thinks that is a very good thing.
“Sam does not like to be bested at anything,” Nelson said. “She feels like if she strikes out then that opposing pitcher got the best of her. That is the way she goes about everything, and it will take her a long way.”
Yarbrough, who just finished her junior season and is already committed to South Alabama, helped the Pirates to a 49-8 overall record and a berth in the Class 7A state tournament.
