High Point basketball transfer Andre Fox has verbally committed to South Alabama, a source confirmed to AL.com.
Fox, a 6-foot-4 shooting guard, averaged 15.7 points per game last season. He shot 42.6 percent from 3-point range and 75.2 percent from the free-throw line, earning second-team All-Big South League honors.
Fox will sit out the 2018-19 season under NCAA transfer rules, then be eligible to play for the Jaguars as a fifth-year senior in 2019-20. The Green Belt, Md., native visited South Alabama last weekend and also reportedly drew interest from Nevada, Miami, Delaware and Louisiana Tech.
Fox is the third guard commitment the Jaguars have added since new coach Richie Riley took over on March 15.
