After going wild with the long ball on Friday night, South Alabama took things mostly one base at a time on Saturday against UT Arlington.
The Jaguars bashed out 14 hits -- all but one a single -- on the way to a 6-2 victory at Stanky Field, clinching the series victory over the Mavericks. South Alabama (28-20, 16-9 Sun Belt) goes for the sweep at 1 p.m. Sunday, which is Senior Day.
USA also got dominant pitching from Jared Proctor, Zach Melton and Zach Greene, who combined on a three-hitter. The trio totaled 11 strikeouts and four walks.
