South Alabama begins the 2018 college baseball season this weekend, with designs on going where no Jaguar has gone before.
USA is ranked as high as No. 17 and as low as No. 24 in the five major preseason polls, and is regarded as the preseason favorite to win the Sun Belt Conference. The Jaguars have won 40 games and been to NCAA regionals each of the last two seasons, but continue to strive for the ultimate goal of the program's first ever visit to Omaha for the College World Series.
"It's great to get some recognition," USA coach Mark Calvi said.
