One of the top offensive linemen in the FCS has committed to join the South Alabama football program as a graduate transfer, a source told AL.com.
Tackle John Austin Cook, a second-team FCS All-American and the Southland Conference Offensive Lineman of the Year last year at Central Arkansas, will play his final season of college football with the Jaguars in 2018. He played for new South Alabama head coach Steve Campbell at UCA.
The 6-foot-4, 319-pound Cook was a two-year starter at left tackle at Central Arkansas, helping the Bears average 37.6 points an 468.
