MOBILE, Ala. – Briana Morris, a rising senior on the University of South Alabama soccer team, has been invited to be a part of the Sun Belt Conference's 2019 Diversity and Inclusion Summit at the league's annual meeting in Point Clear, Ala.
The panel will convene May 17 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Grand Hotel.
Morris will be the only student-athlete on a panel discussion featuring faculty athletic representatives from five member institutions and Scottie Rodgers, associate commissioner of the Sun Belt. They will review the book "Blindspot: Hidden Biases of Good People" and discuss what member institutions are doing to address diversity as well as best practices within an athletic department.
