SOCCER FALLS IN DOUBLE OT TO COASTAL CAROLINA

MOBILE, Ala. Sunny Sigurvinsdottir deflected home a free kick in the 107th minute to give Coastal Carolina a 1-0 victory over the University of South Alabama soccer team Friday night at The Cage.

The Chanticleers stay unbeaten in the Sun Belt Conference at 2-0 and go to 3-4-1 overall. The Jaguars fall to 3-6 and 1-1.

GAME FACTS
- South Alabama outshot Coastal Carolina 26-14 on the night, including 11-4 on target, and had 10 corner kicks to CCU's three
- The Jaguars put six of their 12 first-half shots on net but did not force Rylee Atteberry to make a difficult save
- Senior Hannah Godfrey got her head on the end of a corner kick at 38:40 but it went wide left
- Freshman Brianna Mascia nearly ended it in the 89th minute, but her shot at the top of the box just went over the bar
