MOBILE, Ala. – Senior Rodrick Sikes scored 18 points and graduate Kory Holden hit a key 3-pointer late in the game to lead the University of South Alabama men's basketball team to a 66-57 victory over Florida A&M Saturday night at the Mitchell Center.
FAMU used a 13-6 run late in the second half to pull within 57-54 with 3:59 left after back-to-back layups from D.J. Jones. Holden converted a pair of free throws shortly after and Sikes hit a layup a minute later for a seven-point advantage.
The Rattlers missed an opportunity to get closer, going just 2 for 4 at the stripe, then junior Trhae Mitchell went 1 for 2 at the 1:41 mark before FAMU missed a layup.
