COLLEGE STATION, Texas — University of South Alabama sprinter Rafael Scott earned second-team All-American honors after his top-10 performance at the NCAA Indoor Championship in the Gilliam Indoor Stadium.
Scott finished 10th in the men's 60-meter dash out of 16 of the nation's top collegiate sprinters, running a 6.65-second time in the preliminary round. The Lucedale, Miss., native finished just .02 seconds short of qualifying among the top eight and moving on to the finals Saturday.
Scott's second-consecutive year earning second-team All-American honors caps his junior year, which consisted of a broken school record, two meet victories and the Sun Belt Conference title in the event.
