Box Score TROY, Ala. – Alex Stewart tossed a two hitter and top-seeded Louisiana-Lafayette used a pair of three-run innings to defeat the fourth-seeded South Alabama softball team 6-0 Thursday morning at the 2017 Sun Belt Conference Championships held at the Troy Softball Complex on the campus of Troy University.
South Alabama (34-19) will now face No. 7 Louisiana-Monroe in an elimination game at 3 p.m. Thursday. The loss snaps South's streak of 10-straight wins over Sun Belt Conference teams.
Kaleigh Todd and MC Nichols recorded USA's two hits against the Ragin' Cajuns. Destin Vicknair (14-11) took the loss as she allowed three runs on three hits in just one inning of work.
