A furious second-half rally fell short for South Alabama on Saturday night, as the Jaguars dropped a 30-26 decision to Louisiana Tech at Ladd-Peebles Stadium.
The Jaguars trailed 20-7 at halftime and 23-7 in the third quarter, before scoring three late touchdowns. USA (0-1) got within three points once and four points another time, but never took the lead.
Kawaan Baker scored three of South Alabama's four touchdowns on two runs and one reception. The other USA TD came on a short run by Maurice Mayo.
